TEM update

September 28, 2017. The JEOL TEM is still down due to a grid dropped into the specimen chamber that is blocking the beam. This is a serious problem that could lead to an expensive repair bill. It was easily avoidable.

FESEM status

August 23, 2017. I replaced the vacuum pump yesterday and that fixed one problem. However, I found that the SEC vacuum gauge failed. That part will be here tomorrow and I’ll get it installed right away. Look for a status update tomorrow around noon.
