After you're done shutting down the CRTs, it is time to take out the sample.

Move the plastic cylinder till it clicks to the end of the rod. Place the end of the rod inside the exchange chamber and push the Vacuum Control button. Open the stage door, and push in the exchange rod until the end of it touches the specimen holder. Twist in a clockwise direction until it is finger tight, to attach the sample to the rod. CAREFULLY pull the sample towards you until it clicks. Close the stage door, push the Vacuum Control button and set the sample and the rod onto the rod holder. Unscrew the sample taking care not to touch either the rod or the sample itself, and put the sample back where it came from.
