Joseph Vermeylen is a new lab assistant in the Electron Optics Facility, working under Owen Mills.
I am a dual major in Chemistry and Materials Science and Engineering. I am interested in polymers and ceramics along with crystalline materials with unique chemistries. I transferred from Washtenaw Community College in 2015, began finishing my chemistry degree, and discovered an interest in material properties after being awarded the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship in 2016: I did computational research on a theoretical material. I intend to move on to graduate school for a PhD in Materials Chemistry. I enjoy writing programs and experimenting with software.
