Construction Updates for the Titan Themis STEM Installation

Construction is wrapping up at the new facility located on the west end of Michigan Tech’s Advanced Technology Development Complex (ATDC) on Sharon Avenue. A first coat of paint has been applied to the ducts. The new west entrance is shown. Suspended ceiling work has begun, most of the ductwork and piping are done, and the insulation is in progress. The room will house the new 200kV Titan Themis Scanning Transmission Electron Microscope (STEM/TEM).

Update May 8, 2017: The S-TEM has been moved into the lab and installation work by FEI engineers has begun. Estimated installation time is 6-8 weeks.
